At a very young age while developing pictures with his father in the home photography dark room, Gabriel’s passion for storytelling and filmmaking began. The splendor of looking at an image forming before his eyes was magical, and it propelled him into a world of ideas and creative possibilities. After directing and shooting several short narrative and documentary films, Gabriel created Volco Films. He further perused his love for filmmaking by studying film at Emerson College, in Boston Massachusetts.
He has always been very observant. He loves traveling and enjoys learning about people and cultures to tell engaging stories. He draws a lot of his creative personal work from his multicultural background. He was born in Mexico City and raised in Mexico, Toronto, and Israel, which provided him a unique outlook on life.
Being behind the camera excites him, most importantly, directing actors and a crew, which motivates him to tell the best story possible at a given moment. It all boils down to the magical moment once everyone is together to create a common project.
Gabriel has been very fortunate and honored to have his work featured in film festivals and museums across North America and Europe. He plans to create character driven films that speak about family values and the importance of being true to oneself. Having graduated from film school, he has worked on several film and commercial productions. His latest projects include To Be A Child Again Israel and the producer of two masterclasses for renowned soccer legend Hugo Sanchez and famous Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador.
